The Seven Churches of Revelation
This journey explores the Seven Churches of Revelation, the early Christian communities addressed in the opening chapters of the Book of Revelation. Across western Anatolia, Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea reveal a remarkable landscape in which Roman cities, emerging Christian communities and the religious traditions of the ancient world once met. From the monumental remains of Ephesus and Pergamum to quieter archaeological sites such as Sardis and Laodicea, the journey places the biblical texts within their historical and geographical setting and offers a deeper understanding of the challenges, beliefs and cultural world of Christianity in Asia Minor.
